What is pycnogenol?

Pycnogenol® is an extract from a French maritime Pine tree.

This extract is taken from the bark of mono-species of pine trees grown exclusively in Les Landes de Gascogne Forest in southwest France
The forest is unspoiled and natural- with no pesticides or herbicides used.
The premium quality of Pycnogenol® components comes from the fact the bark is not subject to seasonal variations which makes it an ideal botanical source.

Pycnogenol® French maritime pine bark extract is a naturally programmed combination with constant proportions of procyanidins, bioflavonoids and organic acids, which offer amazing natural properties.

Pycnogenol’s unique blend of active compounds has four basic properties :

It’s a powerful antioxidant (in fact it is 20 times more potent than Vitamin C and 50 times more potent than Vitamin E)
It acts as a natural anti-inflammatory
It helps generate collagen and hyaluronic acid
It aids in the production of endothelial nitric oxide which helps to dilate blood vessels.

Pycnogenol® French maritime pine bark extract is a scientific evidence based and proprietary extract, which is protected by several U.S. and international patents. The ingredient is Kosher certified, Halal and “self-affirmed” GRAS(2) for applications in functional foods and beverages.
